A fabulous half day excursion provides an unforgettable tour around the surrounding areas of the Cotopaxi National Park. Our beautiful trails provide a variety of mountain views from the unique páramo forests to panoramic settings overlooking 5 stunning volcanoes in the middle of the Ecuadorian Andes.

From the back of your horse you will see a different view up the Cotopaxi Valley and the beautiful volcanoes around like Rumiñahui, Sincholagua, Pasochoa and in the horizon the beauty of Corazon, Atacazo and Pichincha Volcanoes.

Our knowledgeable guides will share information about the region and the diverse flora and fauna, as well as entertaining you with tales of their ancestors. Of course at all times our riders comfort and safety is a top priority. Along the trail you may see wild horses,condors, deer, foxes, many species of birds, wildflowers, mushrooms, crystal clear creeks, rivers that descend from the glaciers of Cotopaxi Volcano and spectacular groves.

  • Getting there

    By car: Approximately 1 hour and 45 Minutes south of Quito. From Quito head south along the Pan-American highway (E35) until Machachi. Then from there we are about another 25 kms on the way to El Pedregal, which is the northeast entrance of Cotopaxi National Park.

    By Bus: If you do not have your own transportation, we recommend you take a bus that goes to Ambato or to the south of the country and stop in Machachi. From Machachi you can get a pick up truck going in the direction of El Pedregal until you reach the northeast entrance of Cotopaxi National Park where we are located. The ride in truck is approximately 25 kms.

    By car: We are approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes north of Banos. From Banos take the E30 north to Ambato and from there take the Pan-American highway (E35) north in the direction of Quito until you reach Machachi. Then from there we are about another 25 kms in the direction of El Pedregal, which is the northeast entrance of Cotopaxi National Park.

    By Bus: If you do not have your own transportation, we recommend you take a bus that goes to Quito and stop in Machachi. From Machachi you can get a pick up truck going in the direction of El Pedregal until you reach the northeast entrance of Cotopaxi National Park where we are located. The ride in truck is approximately 25 kms.
